IF CYBERPUNK, MAGNUM P.I. AND 80’S CARTOONS HAD A THREESOME THIS WOULD BE THEIR BASTARD CHILD.

SESSION 01 : STORY

Tungsten is hired by the wife of the Universal Shipping Co President to spy on her husband, Harold, who she suspects is philandering. Tungsten tracks Harold to the Dionysus brothel where he sees him being blackmailed into organizing some complex shipping by Giapetto Bang, one of the notorious mobster siblings: The Brothers Bang. Giapetto has footage of Harold with a hooker who he allegedly murdered. Further investigation reveals that it was almost certainly Giapetto who murdered the hooker, so why does Harold remember committing the crime and what is Giapetto forcing him to ship? And ultimately does any of this matter if Tungsten can just use this information to screw everyone out of a whole heap of cash?

ORIGINS...

What if 80's cartoons grew up and held a twisted mirror up to contemporary society?

This is not just nostalgia. I don't want to make Tungsten Girth because I want to re-make He-Man, I want to see 80's cartoons reinvented.

Increasingly we seem to be living in a world in which vanity, greed and selfishness are rewarded. And where there is no penalty for cowardice or idiocy. Where the technology that holds such potential for our emancipation is used to rob us of self contentment and proselytize stupidity. The irony being that we are almost always willing participants in this process.

I wanted to take that to its apotheosis and like anything taken to an absurd extreme it naturally becomes both parody and indictment.

I wasn't aiming to create a hero, or an anti-hero, or even an anti-superhero. I wanted to create a character who embodies the worst of all of our contemporary vices, in a world that is simultaneously utopian and abhorrent.

Anyway those are all the long and clever sounding words that I know so yeah it’s mostly just me ranting, in pictures, about stuff.

MOOD YO

You know you want this :D
